I'm currently looking to give away (with a catch) my Sidekick LX cellphone. Any of you who know me know that at current, I cary around three cellphones; the sidekick, iphone, and a motorola voice phone. I'm sick of this, and I want to condense all my phones into one device that does everything I need for a single monthly bill.

My sidekick is very well taken care of; and it has been an amazing communications phone. I've never used it for voice (though that can be easily added), I used it because it is by far the best mobile text communication device I've come across. It can run AIM, MSN, YIM, do texts, emails, and browse the web, all very efficiently. It multitasks with key combo shortcuts to everything, making hopping between applications and conversations exceptionally easy. It can last more than 24 hours on a single charge while running AIM, MSN, YIM, and being used fairly regularly.

It has a full QWERTY keyboard, one of the very best I've ever used on a mobile device; it's very easy to learn to type quickly and even without having to ever look at the keyboard. The buttons are a firm rubber with nice spacing between each one. It also includes two shoulder buttons, the trademark four navigational buttons (menu, home, close, and confirm), and a scrollball.

Application switching is incredibly snappy; it has bluetooth and a standard 3.5mm audio jack and can play MP3s and video files which you can store on a microSD card and load with the included mini-USB cable, which also charges the phone. It also has a 1.3 megapixel camera which takes photos and records video (albiet not very good video). The screen itself is very nice; it's made by Sharp and is on a surprisingly durable swivel, which has survived rather heavy usage without showing any signs of weakening or wear.

Also of note; the phone regularly backs itself up remotely to the Danger servers, so if anything ever happens and you lose your data, it is automatically reloaded next time you boot up the phone.

overall it's a surprisingly nice phone (there have been a number of other models, but they aren't made by the same company and aren't nearly as good of quality). I've greatly enjoyed having it but it just can't do quite everything I need (GPS being one of them), so I'm looking to give it away.

Here's the conditionals of anyone who wants this phone:

it comes on a nine-month contract at $25/mo+tax for unlimited text and data. You can add voice to this if you want, but I think it might extend the contract.

it comes with a pre-set phone number. I believe you can change this if you desire, for a charge, but I am not sure.

If you were to buy this phone new from T-Mobile, it would come at a $100 cost for the phone, $40 activation fee, and a two-year minimum contract.

The reason I want to do this is because to break the contract would be a $175 fee; and so rather than terminate that and attempt to sell off the phone without a plan which someone would have to sign up for anyway, I'd like to use T-Mobile's "Transfer of Responsibility" to put the remainder of the contract into someone else's hands who will use it.

Below are some images of the device; if you are interested, let me know here or in email at
